The 5 types according to human movement
In Chinese medicine there are different classifications that can be used to frame an individual. Each of these methods is suitable to describe a range of individual characteristics, that describes a type of individual that better captures certain aspects (relationship with the world / behavior, physical constitution and relationship with their "destiny", postural attitude and movement characteristic energy ...) body and its functions. The second type of the "5 movements" describes 5 types of people mainly from the behavioral standpoint, the number 5 in Taoist philosophy, is the relationship between man and cosmos, between the "microcosm" and the "macrocosm", to put it in physical terms, is the relationship between a system (living) closed and his universe. 5 are the senses, which provide insight into the world, 5 are the extremities of the body (4 limbs and head) and 5 fingers and toes. The 5 types of people are therefore 5 ways of dealing with the world, but the Descriptions of these types include physical aspects in addition to those so-called "psychological" because, as has been said about the hands, feet and under, the relationship with the world can be understood in a behavioral, physical, emotional, etc.. Personally, at the suggestion of some of my teachers, I tend not to consider very relevant physical characteristics to determine the type of an individual (even if they are described in classical texts), but to focus on how to react people's way of reacting can change throughout life, so also the type and probably could change something in physical appearance, but certainly the latter undergoes slower changes over time, and there are other factors that may be more decisive in its formation (cf. genetic!). The 5 types of people reflect, as I mentioned before, the "5 movements" or "5 elements", or 5 archetypes that are described in Chinese medicine: these are the WOOD The fire, earth, metal, water. As the concepts of yin and yang these 5 archetypes can be used to represent many things, but with a more restricted meaning than yin and yang. Everything that exists can be described based on yin / yang, or base 2, because when we know something, we know immediately what "is", that our knowledge is based on duality, on the distinction between what is and what is not is, therefore nothing exists without its opposite aspect, there is no yin without yang. A switch will be turned off than a yang, which is yin. The sun is yang compared to the moon, the heat is yang compared to the cold, joy to sadness than is yang, yang is the father than the mother, the sky is yang compared to the earth, etc. .. Not only that but also the 5 movements because they are part of our knowledge, movements can be divided into yin and yang movements: the wood is yang compared to water, metal and earth, but the fire is yang compared to wood, etc.. This game can be done using the 5 movements only when you are talking about the relationship microcosm / macrocosm, ie the seasons (the macrocosm) are 4 but for the man (microcosm) as if they were 5: spring (represented by wood), summer (fire) , autumn (metal), winter (water) and the period of the change of season (earth).
In the next post I will speak of each type you soon ... ![]()
